Tracey Kelusky finished with a co-game-high eight points on a goal and seven assists to lead the Calgary Roughnecks to a 16-13 victory over the San Jose Stealth before a crowd of 9,828 Saturday night at the Saddledome.
Josh Sanderson added six points on two goals and four assists, Curt Malawsky had five points on three goals and two assists and Kaleb Toth added five points on two goals and three assists to help Calgary (4-0) stay unbeaten.
Dane Dobbie scored three goals and dished an assist, and Jeff Shattler had two goals and two assists for the Western Conference-leading Roughnecks.
In a losing effort, Colin Doyle finished with eight points on a goal and seven assists, Rhys Duch had six points on three goals and three assists and Tom Johnson scored three goals and doled out an assist for San Jose (1-3), which lost to Calgary for the second time this season.
Calgary led 7-4 at the end of the first quarter, 10-6 halftime and 11-10 going into the fourth quarter after Duch scored a man-up goal with eight seconds remaining in the third to pull the Stealth within one.
But Malawsky and Shattler scored back-to-back goals in the opening four minutes of the fourth quarter to put Calgary back up by three, and the Stealth could never come closer than two goals again. San Jose pulled within 13-11, 14-12 and 15-13 but could never cut the deficit back to one.
