TEX BOYS: Coppell Pair Commits to Fontbonne University

Coppell seniors Peter Travis and Tucker Nickols have each committed to play NCAA Division III lacrosse at Fontbonne University.

Travis, an attackman, and Nickols, a middie, helped lead the Cowboys to the Texas High School Lacrosse League Division II state championship this season.

Both players have big expectations coming into the St. Louis-based school, according to Fontbonne head coach Nick Silva.

“We’re expecting big things out of Peter from the second he arrives on campus,” Silva said. “He’s great with both hands, shooting and feeding. He makes the players around him better.”

Silva added: “Tucker's a midfielder who can play both ends of the field, which is going to give him the opportunity to contribute early on in his career.”
