MEN: Arizona Wins Big in Mickey-Miles Felton's Return

Mickey-Miles Felton brought the flash back to the University of Arizona sideline Saturday afternoon, and his beloved Laxcats responded with a decisive win in his re-debut as head coach.

Freshman attackman Graham Seamans scored a co-game-high four goals to lead Division I Arizona to a 17-6 victory over Division II Northern Arizona in an MCLA game in Tucson.

Senior middie Alex Beauchamp added four points on two goals and two assists, and senior attackman Frank Connell scored three times to help the Laxcats (1-0) win their season opener in decisive fashion. Junior middie Tanner Chitwood, freshman middie Jordan Goldstein and junior middie C.J. Price all scored twice for Arizona.

Rounding out the offense for the Laxcats, freshmen attackmen Brooks Nardi and Alex Potter each scored a goal.

In defeat, Troy Elliott scored four goals for Northern Arizona (0-1), which lost its season opener.

Arizona stormed out to a 6-0 lead by the end of the first quarter, an advantage it extended to 11-1 by halftime.

“It felt great,” Felton said. “I had the red boots on, the cowboy hat on, and a lot of people were giving me the thumbs up.

“It was emotional for me. We all want the same thing, to get back the tradition of having a successful Arizona lacrosse program.”
